This one really made me think. It made me think mostly about the way I view my earthly father and what my expectations of him are. The conclusion I came to is that my expectations are neither realistic or fair. I expect way too much from my human father.

But I've also just come to realize that over the last several years, I have been in a pattern of lowering my expectations of him, and he has responded by exceeding them! That really is God working in me, not my father! (Although I can't really count that out!!)

Learning and understanding that the only one who will never let me down is God has allowed me to accept everyone else for who they are, and who they are in God's eyes...a perspective I MUST respect.

Thanks for making me think, Fr. Dave!
